The future of America's EV charging network takes shape
August 01, 2022
The U.S. Departments of Transportation and Energy announced that all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico have submitted electric vehicle infrastructure deployment plans under the requirements of the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Formula Program established and funded by the bipartisan Infrastructure law.
These plans require unlocking the first round of $5 billion in Bipartisan infrastructure law formula funding over five years to help states accelerate the important work of building a national EV charging network and making electric vehicle charging available to all Americans. The on-time submission of each of these plans demonstrates a broad state commitment to building an EV charging infrastructure to help accelerate EV adoption and create good jobs.To access these new funds and help ensure a convenient and equitable charging experience for all users, each state is required to submit an EV infrastructure deployment plan to the Joint Office of Energy and Transportation.
