On November 29, 2025, our IOCAP26 (2×22kW) pedestal dual AC charger successfully completed the full Eichrecht Modul B + D certification, with technical implementation and support provided by the VDE Testing & Certification Institute.
The process strictly followed Germany’s MessEV/MessEG regulations, fully verifying the product’s metrology chain, design consistency, and production quality system, making Iocharger the first manufacturer to complete the AC metrology compliance system and setting a new standard for Chinese charging equipment in Europe’s high-precision metering market.
Germany Eichrecht Certification: The ‘Gold Standard’ in European Metering
The Eichrecht framework refers to Germany’s legal metrology requirements for accurate and transparent energy measurement, defined primarily in the MessEG and MessEV regulations. The Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB), Germany’s National Metrology Institute, is responsible for type approval and technical evaluation of charging systems to ensure compliance. Eichrecht compliance is one of the most rigorous regulatory requirements for EV charging metering in Europe and is essential for commercial operation in Germany and increasingly relevant across the EU.
The certification system consists of two core components:
Modul B
Ensures that products are traceable, auditable, and monitorable in terms of structure, electrical safety, communication protocols, and metering chain.
Modul D
Verifies that manufacturers can consistently maintain in mass production: Structures and functions identical to the certified prototype, Stable metrology chain, Strict production control, Complete traceability system, and Long-term quality consistency.
